This calendar contains a wide variety of events across the DFW Metroplex for all ages and interests. Event options include learning opportunities to help you and your family understand what happens during the Total Solar Eclipse, how to prepare and most importantly, how to protect your eyes during the lead up to and the aftermath of the period of totality.

Total Eclipse Viewing Party at Scarbrough Haven! – Emory, Texas
On April 8, 2024, experience the awe-inspiring solar eclipse at our prime viewing site, located almost in the center of the direct path of totality. Our 20+ acres of fields surrounding the Aurora at Scarbrough Haven offer an unmatched space for witnessing this extraordinary event.
Few eclipses will compare to the unique spectacle awaiting us in Texas, which will feature over 4 minutes of complete totality. Experience the tangible drop in temperatures, the sudden shifts in the sounds and behaviors of nature, the panoramic view of a 360-degree sunset mid-day, the appearance of stars in broad daylight, and the surreal sensation of being on a different planet. This eclipse is set to be the longest and most visible in 100 years, and we won’t have another in the continental US until 2044.
Times:
Gates open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the eclipse unfolding between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Complete totality is anticipated at 1:40 pm and will last over 4 minutes.
Event Details:
- Bring your cameras and/or telescopes, lawn chairs, blankets, and games.
- Children must have adult supervision AT ALL TIMES.
- This event will only be located in the fields adjacent to the Aurora. Our wooded and lakefront areas will be closed.
- Each individual attending must have a pre-purchased ticket for entry. We will not sell tickets at the door.
- Prohibited items include outside alcohol, weapons, illegal items, tents, fireworks of any kind, vending, and soliciting.
- Only trained service animals are allowed. No other pets, or “comfort companions” are allowed. No exceptions.
- We cannot control the weather, and the event will go on rain or shine.
- All sales are final and non-refundable.
- No overnight parking or RV hookups.
