This calendar contains a wide variety of events across the DFW Metroplex for all ages and interests. We hope you will use it as your central hub for planning your stay in DFW if you have travelled to view the Total Solar Eclipse or if you are a resident seeking to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
While the majority of the events are scheduled during the weekend before the Total Eclipse, others are programmed in the months leading up to the April 8, 2024 celestial event. Learn more about the Total Eclipse DFW here.
Event options include learning opportunities to help you and your family understand what happens during the Total Solar Eclipse, how to prepare and most importantly, how to protect your eyes during the lead up to and the aftermath of the period of totality.
Other events include music, arts, sports, celebrations, museums, businesses, food, local entertainment, tours and many others.

Glyph: Texas Solar Eclipse 2024 – Clifton, Texas
Join Glyph for this extremely rare opportunity to capture the coveted total solar eclipse in central Texas, where the likelihood of good weather is very high. We will have over four minutes of totality on Glyph founder Curtis W. Callaway’s farm near Clifton, Texas. We will spend the days leading up to the eclipse preparing you with the tools and knowledge to capture this amazing event as it occurs. Meet us in downtown Clifton at Callaway Fine Art Photography Gallery for daily briefings and education. We will drive to various locations for day and night photography around our property which hosts a variety of wildflowers and wildlife including great horned owls, painted bunting, scissortails and more.
This will be a group of four to ten guests led by two professional photographers. Photographic instruction will be in the field and classroom as Curtis and Jody work alongside you. You will receive constructive critiques and advice on your creations, and learn alternate processing options and methods in Lightroom and Photoshop. Everything’s all-inclusive, so join us for a great time at our home!

April 6, 2024 – 7am Breakfast. Bird Photography (owls, buntings, scissortail and more). Lunch. Meet at the Gallery for Lightroom/Photoshop processing of images. Eclipse prep. Flash photography and painting with light. Breakout session. Early dinner. Night photography session II.
April 7, 2024 – 8am Breakfast. Meet at the Gallery for Lightroom and Photoshop processing. Lunch. Eclipse prep. Eclipse safety briefing! Eclipse exposure data and timeline for the eclipse. Eclipse safety! Dinner on our farm.
April 8, 2024 – 7am Breakfast. Weather permitting (again out of our control) 12:20:32 Eclipse begins—eclipse shoot. Process images and celebrate!
April 9, 2024 – Breakfast on our farm. Depart for your home.
Pre-Workshop: If you are flying in from out of state or overseas, we recommend getting a flight to Austin or D/FW airports and renting a car. We are in the country roughly 2 hours in either direction. If you prefer to arrive a day or two early to adjust to jet lag you are more than welcome to do so; you will be responsible for lodging during that time.
