This calendar contains a wide variety of events across the DFW Metroplex for all ages and interests. We hope you will use it as your central hub for planning your stay in DFW if you have travelled to view the Total Solar Eclipse or if you are a resident seeking to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
While the majority of the events are scheduled during the weekend before the Total Eclipse, others are programmed in the months leading up to the April 8, 2024 celestial event. Learn more about the Total Eclipse DFW here.
Event options include learning opportunities to help you and your family understand what happens during the Total Solar Eclipse, how to prepare and most importantly, how to protect your eyes during the lead up to and the aftermath of the period of totality.
Other events include music, arts, sports, celebrations, museums, businesses, food, local entertainment, tours and many others.

Save the date! Mark your calendars and prepare for a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The Fort Worth Botanic Garden and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History invite you to witness the awe-inspiring total solar eclipse on April 8! Immerse yourself in nature as the moon dances across the sun, creating a magical twilight spectacle never to be forgotten.
Event Details:
- Monday, April 8 | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Time of Totality: 1:41 p.m.
- Price: General admission plus $3 solar eclipse glasses; free admission and glasses with Garden membership
- *A free viewing area with free educational activities will be available outside of the Garden Center. Solar eclipse glasses will be on sale for $3.
- Parking is free.
What to expect at the Garden:
- Prime eclipse viewing: Our expansive North and South Vistas offer unobstructed views of the sky, making for the perfect backdrop for observing the eclipse in all its glory.
- Safe and informed experience: Solar eclipse glasses will be available for purchase for $3 in addition to the general admission price. For guests not wanting to participate in solar eclipse activities, there will be a free viewing area outside of the Garden Center where guests can purchase solar eclipse glasses for $3.
- Family-friendly fun: From community science with members of our research team to solar eclipse bingo and more, expect plenty of engaging activities as we await the solar eclipse.
Don’t forget to:
- Bring your solar eclipse glasses (available for purchase on-site)
- Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing
- Pack sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water
- Bring a blanket or folding chairs for comfortable viewing
